The Local Governing Body

Governors are like the Board of directors of a small company and make the decisions about how the school is run. They meet formally twice every half term and hold an Annual General Meeting for Parents in the autumn term. It is a very responsible unpaid job and Governors give a great deal of their own time to ensure that the best possible education is available to the children of Friskney. All members of our LGB are appointed under The Lincoln Anglican Academy Trust

As part of their responsibility Governors must:

  • Oversee what is taught.
  • Set standards for behaviour.
  • Select staff and monitor their performance.
  • Set and monitor the school budget.

Governors have legal duties, powers and responsibilities. They can only act together and not independently.
