Farm School

Our pupils greatly benefit from their regular visits to Farm School at the Askefield Project, where each class attends once every three weeks as part of an enriching outdoor learning experience. Set in a peaceful, rural environment, Farm School offers children the opportunity to connect with nature, care for animals, and take part in hands-on activities that build confidence, teamwork, and responsibility. Through practical experiences such as feeding livestock, growing plants, and exploring the natural surroundings, pupils develop a deeper understanding of sustainability and the environment. These visits not only support the curriculum but also promote wellbeing, resilience, and a love of learning beyond the classroom.

Our school vision includes 'Old and New Horizons'. We feel that the Farm School celebrates the local traditional farming trades and allows all children to have an understanding of and experience farming. Learning outside the classroom is well documented to have a positive impact on both learning and mental health and wellbeing.
